Ilex House Bed and Breakfast accommodation offers two double bedded rooms one with ensuite bath, powerful shower and wc and one simply with ensuite powerful shower and wc. The room rates are £35.00 for single occupancy and £65.00 for double occupancy for one night, or £30.00 or £55 for two or more nights – all rates are inclusive of breakfast.
Also available is one twin bedded room with wash basin. This room can only be booked in conjunction with a double room since the bathroom would become shared although there is a separate wc. It is most suitable therefore for family or close friends. The cost of this package for four occupants is £90.00 for the first night and £80 for two or more nights. The twin bedded room is not available for booking by itself.
Ilex House Bed & Breakfast is in a peaceful, rural location just inside the Dartmoor National Park but within easy reach of the A38 and M5. Ideally placed for exploring Dartmoor or the beautiful South Devon countryside and coast; yet the centres of Exeter, Plymouth and Torbay can be reached in around half an hour. We have plenty of room for parking right outside the front door.
The double bedded rooms come complete with TV, DVD, Wi-Fi, shared mini fridge on the landing, hairdryer, and tea and coffee making facilities. (An iron and ironing board are available along with a washing machine and tumble dryer. These last two by arrangement and with notice and subject to a small charge.)
The nearby historic town of Ashburton offers a varied choice of eating places along with a good selection of shops. Alternatively there are many rural pubs serving good food both on Dartmoor and in the surrounding South Devon countryside. A nearby favorite with many of our guests is the Rugglestone Inn – www.rugglestoneinn.co.uk.
We have a large garden with fantastic views and a terrace where you can sit for breakfast, mid morning coffee and so on.
Delicious breakfasts, freshly cooked to order, are available – both full and light. Our own free range chickens will lay all the eggs you can eat –we hope!
Well-behaved dogs are welcome: We have our own friendly Labrador here. Your dog(s) can be exercised in our 3 acre garden/field or there are plenty of longer walks close by.
French spoken here (ici on parle français) – as well as English!
